Obituary of Mary-Catherine Johnson


JOHNSON, Mary Catherine "Katie," 81 of Washington and formerly of Tampa, FL. passed away on November 1, 2013. She was born to the late Eli and Mary Wonder of Washington. Katie was wed on November 10, 1951 to Edmund Russell Johnson and he survives. She was a 1950 graduate of Washington High School, a member of Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, McDill Air Force Base Wive's Club, and was employed as a teacher's aide at Hillsborough County School System in Tampa, FL. Other survivors include a son, Edmund R. Johnson Jr. (Wanda) of Tampa, FL; a daughter, Patricia D. Johnson (Jim) of Lake Lure NC; three grandchildren; two great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. Katie was preceded in death by two brothers, George W. Wonder and Robert P Wonder; and is survived by two sisters, Dorothy Stellings, and Phyllis Lindauer. A visitation will be held on Friday, November 8, 2013 from 4:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M.at Gill Funeral Home, 308 E. Walnut ST. Washington, IN 47501. A funeral service will be conducted on Saturday, November 9, 2013 at 10:00 A.M. also at the funeral home. Officiating will be Pastor George Qualley and Miss Yvonne Evans. Burial will take place following the service in St. Johns Cemetery. You may sign our online guestbook at www.gillsince1872.com. In lieu of flowers the family requests you make a donation to your local hospice facility.
