<!-- FH = Anders-Rice Funeral Home --><!-- DisplayFullObituaryText -->Mary Lou CarterAsheville - Mary Lou Johnston Carter, 74, passed away Saturday, July 19, 2014 at Aston Park Health Care Center.A lifelong resident of Buncombe County, Mrs. Carter was the wife of Guy George Carter, Jr. who passed away May 7, 2007, and was also preceded in death by her father and step-mother, Aaron Alonzo Johnston and Ruth Johnston; mother and step-father, Louise Penley Clark and Perry Wesley Clark; son, Ronnie Bishop; sister, Betty Jo Hyatt; brothers: Gary and Jerry Johnston; and nephew, Jerry Johnston, Jr.Surviving are her daughter, Cynthia Herron and husband Jimmy of Leicester; sons: Phil Bishop and wife Sharon of Old Fort, and Brian Carter and wife Cherri of Leicester; grandchildren: Missy Hall, Phillip Bishop, Jr., Candace Bishop, Seth, Joshua, and Caleb Carter, and Noah, Jonah and Daniel Herron; great-grandchildren: Conner, Lily, Haylee, and Carson; sister, Hazel Wright of Asheville; brothers: David Johnston of Gaffney, SC, and Larry Johnston of Asheville; and several nieces and nephews.Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM Tuesday in the chapel of Anders-Rice Funeral Home, with the Rev. Charles Phillips officiating. Burial will follow in Green Hills Cemetery.The family will receive friends from 10:00 - 10:45 AM Tuesday at the funeral home.
