Mary Ann Raines Carter, 76, of Marysville, Kansas, died October 1, 2006, in Cambridge Place, where she had lived for one year.Mary Ann was born March 4, 1930, in Long Creek, S.C., daughter of the late Rev. L. H. and Stella Bomar Raines. She graduated from Long Creek Academy and attended Anderson College. She married David "Curtis" Carter on June 10, 1949. They had two children Ronald David and Deborah Ann.Mary Ann was a member of The First Baptist Church in Marysville, Kansas. Before moving to Marysville to be with her daughter, she was a long time resident of Sumter, S.C. and a member of the Southside Baptist Church. Mary Ann enjoyed crochet and playing the piano.Preceding her in death were her parents; a brother, Rev. Bomar Raines; two sisters, Margaret and Elizabeth; her husband Curtis; and son, Ronald. Surviving are one brother, Howard of Greenville, S.C.; her daughter and son-in-law, Deborah and Hank Brucker; and three grandchildren, Philip Brucker of Kansas City, Mo., Michelle Lord of Roeland Park, Kansas and Kimberly Brucker, Manhattan, Kansas.Graveside Services will be 3 p.m., Wednesday, October 4, 2006, in Oconee Memorial Park, Seneca, S.C.The family will receive friends from 1 to 2:30 p.m., at The Sandifer Funeral Home, Westminster, prior to the services.
