Mary Catherine Halk Tower, 71, formerly of Bobo Road, Wellford, widow of Weston William Tower, died April 26, 2001, at Magnolia Place of Greenville. A native of Pontiac, Mich., daughter of the late Charles and Dorothy O. Halk. She was a retired hospital administrator and a member of Duncan First Baptist Church. Surviving are four sons, Gary Johnson of Greenville, Larry Johnson of Kodiak, Alaska, Terry Johnson of Anchorage, Alaska, and Scott Tower of Chicago, Ill.; eight grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by a sister, Ruth Neufeld; and a brother, George Halk. Funeral services will be held at 4 p.m. today at The Wood Mortuary, conducted by the Rev. Raymond Ridgeway and the Rev. Paul Bramsen. Burial will follow at Wood Memorial Park. Visitation will be held from 3 to 4 p.m. today at The Wood Mortuary. The family is at the home of the son, Gary Johnson, 102 Newton More Road, Greenville.
