WATERVLIET Miss Mary C. Carr, 93, formerly of the Daniel P. Quinn Apts., died Tuesday, December 28, 2004 at the Ann Lee Home in Colonie. Mary was born in Watervliet on November 6, 1911, the daughter of the late James P. and Julia Barrett Carr. She was raised and educated in Watervliet and was a resident of Watervliet for most of her life before moving to the Ann Lee Home 10 years ago. She was employed by Cluett Peabody Co. in Troy for over 30 years, retiring in 1975. Mary was a communicant of St. Patrick's Church in Watervliet, attending church every day of her life, including daily Mass at St. Anthony's Shrine Church while working in Troy. She had a great devotion to the Blessed Mother and was a secular Franciscan member of St. Bernadine of Siena, professing her vows in 1988. She was the sister of the late James P. and William J. Carr. Mary was the adored aunt of Mrs. Patricia Strohecker and her husband Bob of Watervliet, Timothy W. Carr and his wife Mary Lou of Ind., James P. Zip Carr and his wife Ruth of East Greenbush and the late William J. Carr and his wife Pat Carr of Long Island. Mary is also survived by several beloved grandnieces and grandnephews. The funeral will be Friday morning at 8:30 from the Parker Bros. Memorial, 2013 Broadway, Watervliet and at 9:00 a.m. at St. Patrick's Church, Watervliet where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by Rev. Erwin H. Schweigardt, pastor.
