TUSCALOOSA Mary Banks Williams, age 87, of Tuscaloosa, died October 25, 2013, at Hospice of West Alabama. Celebration of Life Services will be 2 p.m. today, October 28, 2013 at Heritage Chapel Funeral Home with Tim Ryan officiating. Burial will follow in Tuscaloosa Memorial Park with Heritage Chapel Funeral Home & Cremations, a Dignity Memorial Provider, directing. Visitation will be one hour prior to services at the funeral home.She was preceded in death by her husband, Walter Harold Williams; parents, Lillie Mae and Walter Banks; and sisters, Kit Posey and Judy Junkins.Survivors include her daughter, Deborah Williams Little (William) of Philadelphia, Tenn.; son, H. Ted Williams (Sandra R.) of Destin, Fla.; sisters, Maudine Averette, Barbara Knight, and Joyce Lyles; brother, James William Banks (Lillie); grandchildren, Kimberly Williams Tavenier, M. Brent Williams, Chris L. Williams, Amanda Little Bruce, and Pamela Little Guinn; and great-grandchildren, Zackary Wojno, Zoe R. Tavenier, Zuri R. Tavenier, Aaron Williams, Andrew Williams, Luna Williams, Isabel Bruce, Emma Claire Bruce, Ava Beth Guinn, Gaberille Gray, Sammy Gray and Adrianne E. Williams.Mary Banks Williams, born in Brownville, Alabama will be greatly missed by her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and family. She was a devoted mother. She enjoyed her life with family and friends. She was an active member of Westend Methodist Church and volunteered at Druid City Hospital. Some of hr favorite activities were traveling to the mountains, beach and camping. Gardening and mowing her lawn was her passion. She was an avid fan of the Atlanta Braves Baseball and Crimson Tide Football Team.Pallbearers will be Blake Knight, Shane Charlton, Heath Dailey, Allen Corley, Gary Averette, Glen Averette, Ben Ray and Tim Tavenier.Honorary pallbearers are Pine Valley Retirement Community, Hospice of West Alabama, and Tuscaloosa Fire Department.In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Hospice of West Alabama.Condolences may be offered at www.heritagechapeltuscaloosa.com.
