-> Mrs. Mary Baker Newsome, age 83, of Savannah, GA died Friday, August 20, 2004 at Northside Hospital in Atlanta after a brief illness. She was a native of Worcester, MA and was born August 13, 1921. She married James I. Newsome, Jr. of Savannah, GA in 1946 and moved to Savannah that same year where she remained a resident until her death. She worked for Chatham Steel Company Savannah for over 40 years and was employed there at the time of her death. Her pleasures in life were her work, friends, and above all, her family. She was preceded in death by her husband, James I. Newsome, Jr. Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, James I. Newsome, III and Kathy J. Newsome of Marietta, GA; two grandchildren, Rachel Christine and Matthew James Newsome and her sister, Alice E. Martin. A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, August 24, 2004 in Savannah. Arrangements are still pending. Her remains are being cremated according to her wishes. Inter ment will be in Providence, Rhode Island.
