CARPENTER, MARY B. Carpenter, Mary B, age 87, a resident of Shelby, AL, died on Saturday, March 19, 2011 at a local hospital. Funeral service will be at 2 PM, Monday, March 21, 2011, at Bolton Funeral Home with Rev. Roger Hamaker officiating. Burial will follow in Pinelawn Gardens. Family will receive friends 6 to 8 PM Sunday, March 20, 2011. Bolton Funeral Home of Columbiana is directing. Mary was a loving mother, grandmother and sister; she loved life and loved to visit her family and friends. She was a member of Bethlehem Baptist Church and the Women's Auxiliary of the Shelby Volunteer Fire Department. Mary is preceded in death by her husband Ralph Carpenter and she is survived by her children, George R. (Marguerite) Carpenter, Richard H. (Audrey) Carpenter, Connie C. (Glenn) Miller and Robert C. (Myrna) Carpenter; 8 grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren; brother, Kimbrell Barefield and numerous nieces, nephews, family and friends.
