Mary Annette Carpenter Edwards - JACKSONVILLE, FL - Mary Annette Carpenter Edwards, 96, died February 21, 2009 at Taylor Home in Jacksonville, FL. The Effingham County native was a member of Bonnybridge Baptist Church and the Willing Workers Sunday School Class. She had retired from Union Camp and was a member of the American Legion Auxilliary. She was predeceased by her husband, Ralph Edwards; parents, George and Maude Royal Carpenter; daughter, Belle Revelle; brothers, George and Riley Carpenter; and sisters, Ada and Irene Carpenter, Eula Dyches, Isabel Buie, Lucille Shuman, and Eloise Guinette. Survivors include a daughter, Virginia Butler Bridwell of Jacksonville; a son, Howard L. (Betty) Butler, Jr. of Fruitland, FL; son-in-law, Norman Revelle of DeBary, FL; two sisters, Ruby Rainey and Erma Eaddy of Jacksonville; 7 grandchildren, including Mitchell (Patty) Kerby of Port Wentworth; 8 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Visitation: 4-6 p.m. Monday, February 23, 2009 at the funeral home. Graveside Service: 11 a.m. Tuesday, February 24, 2009 at Hillcrest East on Wheaton Street in Savannah with Rev.
