BRANDON - Mary Ann Knapp, 80, died Thursday, June 19, 2014, at Rutland Regional Medical Center. She was born in Pemaquid, Maine, on March 29, 1934, the daughter of James and Gladwyne (Curtis) Fuller. She graduated from Shoreham High School in 1952. For several years, Mrs. Knapp worked in special education, as a speech aide, at Lothrop Elementary School in Pittsford. She was a member of Brandon Area Rescue Squad, Neshobe Sportsman Club, and served on the board of directors for the Brandon Cemetery Association. While retired in Galax, Va., she was active in her church and a bridge club. She enjoyed crafts, camping and going to the casino in Cherokee, N.C. Survivors include her husband, Murray R. Knapp of Brandon, whom she married in Shoreham on Sept. 6, 1954; two sons, Dale Knapp of Brandon and Kent Knapp of South Burlington; a sister, Theo Fuller-Lowell of Salisbury; two granddaughters; many nieces and nephews and several cousins. Mrs. Knapp was predeceased by a son, Mark Knapp, and a sister, Barbara Fuller. The memorial service in celebration of her life will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, June 26, at St. Thomas Episcopal Church in Brandon, officiated by the Rev. Margo Fletcher, rector, and followed by burial in Pine Hill Cemetery and then a reception in the church undercroft.
