-->Mary Ann Jolly Mack NEWBERRY, SC-- Mrs. Mary Ann Jolly Mack, 85, Widow of Thomas Mack Sr., formerly of Union, SC, died Friday morning, October 3, 2008 at White Oak Manor in Newberry, SC. Born February 1st, 1923 a daughter of the late Col. T.C. Jolly and Mary Spears Jolly. Mrs. Mack was a member of Grace United Methodist Church and was a Union High School and Lander College Graduate. She had been employed as a school teacher and was the secretary and bookkeeper for Mack and associates. She was also a great cook and Disciplinarian. Survivors include one son Thomas Mack Jr. and his wife Sherry of Lake Murray, SC; one daughter, Mary Mack Edwards and husband Thomas of Greenville, SC; grandchildren, Kelly Mack of Lake Murray, SC, Spears Edwards Mercer and husband Chad of Mauldin, Ryan Edwards and wife Christine of Charleston; and two great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by two brothers, Mike S. Jolly and Thomas C. Jolly III. Graveside services will be held Sunday, October 5, 2008 at 2:00 PM at Grace United Methodist Church with Dr. Anthony Gavalas and Pastor David Caughman officiating. The family will receive friends in the church parlor following the graveside service. In lieu of flowers, Mrs. Mack had requested memorials be made to the Clemson Alumni Association, PO Box 54, Union, SC 29379 and The Local Rotary Club, PO Box 924, Union, SC 29379. The family is at their respective homes. The Lewis Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
