MERIDEN - Mary Ann Grimes, 53, died unexpectedly on Wednesday, Sept. 1, 2010 at her home. She was born on Feb. 16, 1957 in Meriden, a daughter of Betty (Baker) Grimes and the late Ernest Grimes Sr. She loved to knit and needlepoint and was a member of the Antioch F.B.H. Church in New Haven.In addition to her mother, she is survived by four sisters and their husbands, Gladys and Nathaniel Fountain, Betty Louise Grimes, Dawn Elizabeth Lyons and Denise Lynn and Mark Reynolds, all of Meriden; and four brothers, Ernest Grimes Jr., David Grimes, John Wesley Grimes and Daniel Charles and Darcy Grimes, all of Meriden; she also leaves a maternal grandmother, Elizabeth Walker, of Meriden; as well as a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, Sept. 7, at 11 a.m. at the Beecher & Bennett-Flatow Funeral Home, 48 Cook Ave., Meriden. Burial will follow in Walnut Grove Cemetery, Meriden. Relatives and friends may call at the funeral home on Tuesday from 10 to 11 a.m. prior to the service.
