BARRE TOWN - The Mass of Christian Burial for Mary Ann Beck of Wildersburg Common was celebrated Thursday, May 2, 2013, at 10 a.m. in St. Monica Catholic Church in Barre. She died at her home April 25, 2013. The Rev. Leopold Bilodeau, pastor of the church, was the celebrant and homilist. Crucifer Lawrence Riley led "The Prayer of the Faithful" and assisted with communion. Organist and singer Rosemary Badeau and singer "Skip" Potter accompanied the congregation in the hymns "Amazing Grace," "Turn to Me," "On Eagles Wings" and "The Battle Hymn of the Republic." Soloist Potter sang "Here I am, Lord" at communion. Letters to Mary Ann from her family and remembrances were read by her niece, Nancy Moore. Family friend Fred Letourneau gave the Old Testament reading and nephew Will Adams read from the New Testament. The gifts were brought to the altar by grandnieces Brooke and Paige Moore. Interment was made in the Hope Cemetery where Fr. Bilodeau read the committal prayers and led the congregation in the song "Aunt Mary's Coming Around the Mountain." A delegation from Mary Ann's high school class, Spaulding 1951, was at the ceremony to honor her. Fellowship and dinner followed at the Hilltop Restaurant in Barre Town. The Hooker and Whitcomb Funeral Home, 7 Academy Street, Barre, was in charge of the arrangements.
