MAXWELL, Mary Allan DoddAge 84 of Cowan, Tennessee. Passed away on Saturday, September 14, 2013 at Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville. She was born October 16, 1928 in Nashville, the daughter of the late Henry Allen and Mary Jane (Kirk) Griggs. She was a member of the Cowan Church of Christ and the East Winchester Home Demonstration Club. Mrs. Maxwell was preceded in death by her first husband, Ray Edward Dodd, Sr.; son, Ray Edward Dodd, Jr.; brother, Richard Lamar "Buddy" Griggs. Surviving are husband, Sidney Maxwell; daughter, Janice Allan Dodd (Randy) Farris of Winchester, TN; brother, Dr. John K. (Linda) Griggs of Lexington, KY; step sons, David (Katrena) Maxwell of Murfreesboro, TN and Charles (Nassira) Maxwell of Newnan, GA; grandchildren, Chad (Supakanya) Smith, Tara Allison (Scotty) Scharber, Erritt Brandon Smith and Evinn Landon Smith; step grandchildren, Byran (Rachel) Farris, Kasey Maxwell, Jaimey Maxwell, Mandy (Travis) Sapp, Sean Fentamaster, Jonathan Maxwell and Cynthia (Mark) Coles; great grandchildren, Baylee Ingle, Cade Ingle and Resa Smith; step great grandchildren, Chaney Farris, Cole Farris, Gunner Massey, Zachery Massey and Killian Maxwell; five nieces and five nephews. Funeral service will be held 2 p.m. on Wednesday at the Winchester Church of Christ, 1230 S. College Streeet, Winchester, Tennessee 37398 with Bro. Dan Jones and Bro. Winston Tipps officiating. Serving as Pallbearers are Chad Smith, Erritt Smith, Evinn Smith, Byran Farris, David Maxwell and Charles Maxwell. Interment will follow in Franklin Memorial Gardens, Winchester, TN. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Church of Christ Relief Fund; Franklin County Christian Scholarship Fund; or Special Kids of Murfreesboro.
