Mary Alice Lee Utica Mary Alice Lee went home to be with the Lord, July 21, 2010, in St. Elizabeth Medical Center, with her loving family by her side. Born June 4, 1925 ,in Elba, AL, Mary Alice was the daughter of the late Alice Marie and Charles McArthur Hammonds. Mary came to Utica in 1954 with her late husband, Charles Lee, Jr. They were the parents of seven children. Mary is survived by her sons, Charles Edward (Sadie), Robert Louis (Yvette) and Henry Clayton Lee; her daughters, Ethel (Remus) Mathis, Doreen (Jim), Charleen and Rose Mary Lee; brother, Sammy Hammonds; and sisters, Emma Hammonds and Shirley Coleman. She is also survived by several brothers-in-law and a sister-in-law in Alabama; and her buddy brother-in-law, Fred (Betty) Lee, of Syracuse; also a host of grand and great-grandchildren and nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by brothers, Fred, Alphonso, Wilbert and Thomas Hammonds; and a sister, Ann Marie Waters. The family expresses their sincere appreciation to the staff at Masonic Home and the St. Elizabeth Medical Center. We are deeply touched by the care they provided to our mother.
