Mary Alice Clark passed away on Saturday, January 28, 2012, at the age of 84. She was preceded in death by her husband of 40 years, William Webb ("Bill") Clark. Mary was born on April 15, 1927, in San Antonio, Texas, to Charles and Maria Barget, who had immigrated to the United States from Germany and France.Mary was passionate about helping others. She worked as a nurse for thirty years, making a real difference in the lives of her patients. She was also very active with the Order of the Eastern Star, Escondido Chapter 154, serving as Worthy Matron of that chapter in 1987.After she retired from nursing, Mary continued helping others. She joined Welcome Wagon, taking an active role in welcoming new residents to town, and she supported her husband, Bill, with his work on the board of the Ramona Municipal Water District. Mary and Bill also gave generously to many charities to help those in need.For all that Mary gave to others, she asked for nothing in return. She was a loving inspiration to her family and to all those around her, and she will be missed dearly.Mary is survived by her children, Jo Ann Holmes and Diane Fowler; three grandchildren, Mike Holmes, Kristina Cole and Heather Holmes; and five great-grandchildren, Martin Holmes, Mason Holmes, Sullivan Cole, Thadeus Cole and Zilphia Tarr.A graveside service to commemorate and celebrate Mary's life will be held Saturday, February 25, 2012, at 11:00 a.m., at Nuevo Memory Gardens in Ramona.In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Vincent de Paul.Bonham Bros & Stewart Mortuary and Cremation Service is assisting the family.
