NASHUA, N.H. -- Mary A. Pitts, of Nashua, formerly of Bedford, Mass., died Thursday, Nov. 10, at the Community Hospice House in Merrimack. She was the wife of Alvan R.L. Pitts, who died in 2000.She was born in New Glasgow, Nova Scotia, Nov. 12, 1933, daughter of the late Murdoch and Edith (Bubar) MacDougall. She graduated from St. Martha's Hospital School of Nursing in Antigonish, Nova Scotia.She was employed at St. Joseph's Internal Medicine in Nashua. Previously, she worked at Massachusetts Eye and Ear in Boston.Prior to moving to Nashua in 1994, she was resided in Arlington and Bedford, Mass.While in Nashua, she was a parishioner of St. Joseph the Worker Parish.She is survived by a son, Brian A. Pitts of Westford, Mass.; two daughters and sons-in-law, Shannon and Brad Stoffolano of Pepperell, Mass., and Michelle and Neal Archibald of Townsend, Mass.; four grandchildren; a sister, Therese A. Powers of Florence, Mass.; and a brother, Raymond MacDougall of New Glasgow.
