Martha Wallace Smith, 91, of 232 Lakeside Circle, died Wednesday, April 29, 2009, at her residence. Born in Greenville, she was a daughter of the late Clifford Noble and Martha Lela Thomas Wallace. Mrs. Smith was a homemaker and member of Mitchell Road Presbyterian Church. Surviving are three daughters, Alice Ann Smith of Mauldin, Judith S. Lowry and her husband, Bright, of Due West, and Martha Jane Roark of Columbus, Ga.; two sons, Gerald Smith Jr. and his wife, Janet, of Dublin, Ga. and Charles Smith and his wife, Pat, of Milton, Fla.; eight grandchildren, Margaret L. Brock, Suzanne Lowry, Reagan S. Morris, George G. Smith III, Allison Grainger, Kelly Vanderwarker, Charles W. Smith and Martha J. Smith; and four great-grandchildren, Andy and Edwyn Brock, Frances and Charlotte Morris. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by sisters, Louise Johnson, Miriam Jenkins, Alice Heller, Dorothy Wallace and Grace Wallace Patterson; and a brother, Clifford Wallace. Visitation will be held Friday, May 1, 2009, from 6 to 7:30 p.m. at Thomas McAfee Funeral Home, Downtown. A graveside service will be held Saturday, May 2, 2009, at 12 p.m. at Greenville Presbyterian Church Cemetery in Donalds.
