REED Martha Reed,age 97, beloved wife of the late Robert Reed of Stratford,passed away peacefully August 14, 2010 with her devoted family at her bedside in her home. Born in Stratford, May 12, 1913, the daughter of the late Ludwig and Ella Ostrovsky Csellar, Martha was a retired teacher with the Stratford School System for 32 years having taught at Great Neck, Honeyspot and Stoneybrook Schools. She received her education at New Paltz Teachers College, Yale and Southern Connecticut State Teachers College. Martha was a member of the Baldwin Center, the Eastern Star, Bridgeport Retired Teachers Association, secretary of the Holy Name of Jesus Guild, and life member of NEA-CEA-SEA. She and her late husband, Robert, loved to travel especially to the National Parks of America. Survivors include her daughter, Judy Koenig and her husband, Bill of Stratford; one granddaughter, Kara Fedak and her husband, Matthew; her beloved great-granddaughter, Monica, all of Milford; one niece; and her loving care givers, Donna and Krystina. Friends are invited to attend her funeral on Wednesday, August 18, 2010 at 9 am from the William R. McDonald Funeral Home, 2591 Main St., Stratford and at 10 am in Holy Name of Jesus Church for a Mass of Christian Burial. Interment in Oaklawn Cemetery, Fairfield. Calling hours will be Tuesday from 4 to 8 PM in the funeral home.
