A native of Hardeeville, SC she attended the Jasper County Public Schools. She was employed by the Hilton Head Regional Medical Center until her health began to fail. She was a member of the First African Baptist Church, Hardeeville, SC where she served on the Usher Board. Survivors include daughter, Sheila Ford, Hardeeville, SC; sons, Sammy Ford and Jamie Martin both of Tennessee, and Shawn Martin, Hardeeville, SC; sisters, Mary (Jonathan) Chisolm and Ella Mae Chisolm, both of Hardeeville, SC; nieces, nephews, other relatives and sorrowing friends.
