CHICHESTER -- Martha Laura Sanborn, 91, died Feb. 5, 2009, at Epsom Health Care Center. Born in Chichester, she was the daughter of Willis X. and Laura G. (Saturley) Wilcox. She was a 1933 graduate of Concord High School. She worked as a bookkeeper for the state of New Hampshire until her retirement in 1973. She was a member of the Chichester United Methodist Church, the Pleaides Chapter of the Order of the Eastern Star, and as Grand Martha for the New Hampshire Grand Chapter of the Order of the Eastern Star. She was a member of the Chichester Grange and served as ballot clerk at all elections in Chichester for 25 years. She was predeceased by her husband, Richard Carl Sanborn, in 1994, and her close companion, Everett Sherburne, in 2008. The family includes includes two sons, David A. Sanborn of Dennisport, Mass., and Dale A. Sanborn of Chichester; a brother, Robert A. Wilcox of Barrington; three grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. SERVICES: Services will be private. Burial will take place in the spring at Leavitt Cemetery in Chichester. Memorial donations may be made to the charity of one's choice. Bennett Funeral Home of Concord is in charge of arrangements.
