ANDERSON Martha "Pem" L. Anderson, age 75, died on Wednesday, October 15, 2003, at Sentara Norfolk General Hospital in Norfolk, Va., after a short illness. Born on May 14, 1928, she was the daughter of the late Paul Howard Lilly Sr. and Alma Lee Shield Lilly. Mrs. Anderson was a 1949 graduate of Virginia Polytechnic Institute and received her master"s degree from the University of Bridgeport in home economics. She was a longtime resident of Monroe, where she taught home economics. She also taught in Bridgeport, Bridgehampton, Long Island, N.Y., and was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star. She was very active in charity work with the Virginia Beach United Methodist Church. She is survived by her husband, Richard W. Anderson; daughters, Pamela Escobar of Alexandria, Va., Patricia Holloway of Williamsburg, Va., Peg Joyner of Hampton, Va., and Gwen E. Bruno of Milford; sons, Charles R. Joyner of Germantown, Md., Richard W. Anderson Jr. of Southold, L.I., Bruce A. Anderson of Trumbull, and Burt H. Anderson of Shelton; 12 grandchildren; and a brother, Dr. Paul Howard Lilly Jr. of Bedford, Va.
