Obituary of Martha-Jo Henderson


Mrs. Martha Jo Henderson went to be with her Lord on February 19, 2015, at the age of 91.Graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Feb. 21, 2015, at Oak Hill Cemetery in Attalla. Rev. Earl Mitchell will officiate the service. Morgan Funeral Chapel & Crematory directing.Mrs. Henderson was born in St. Clair County but had lived in Etowah County for most of her life. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Attalla and a graduate of Massey Business College. Mrs. Henderson was preceded in death by her husband, Earl G. Henderson; grandson, Daniel Evan Holcomb; parents, Ollie Lee and Melvie Jane Franklin.She leaves behind, daughters, Gwen Bradley (Butch) of Leesburg, Theresa Hamilton (Bill) of Oxford, Miss., Lynda Rush (Harry) of Birmingham; grandchildren, Dane Holcomb (Jennifer), Reilly Hamilton, Erin Hamilton, Ben Rush, Emily Rush; great-grandson, Daniel Franklin Holcomb.In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made to the First Baptist Church of Attalla Building Fund or to Amedisys Hospice.The following gentlemen will serve as pallbearers: Dane Holcomb, Ben Rush, James Baker, Tommie Cox, Larry Means and Jeff Johnson.The family will receive friends for visitation on Saturday at Morgan Funeral Chapel from 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m.
