Martha Jane Johnson, age 88, Springfield, born March 1, 1918, to the late John and Mathersa (Haynes) Davenport in Page, Nebraska, passed away on Wednesday, July 26, 2006, in James River Care Center. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her. She was united in marriage to Raymond Johnson on March 18, 1937, and to this union four children were born. Jane was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. She enjoyed gardening, especially peony flowers. She was preceded in death by her parents and four brothers. Her survivors include: loving husband of 69 years, L. Raymond; son, Lloyd Edward Johnson and wife, Joyce, of Ava; daughters, Sue Swearengin of Overland Park, Kan., Linda Johnson of Covington, La., and Becky McBride of Springfield; seven grandchildren and six greatgrandchildren; six siblings and their families; numerous other loving relatives and a host of friends. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, July 29, 2006, at 11:00 a.m. in Thieme-Shadel Funeral Service at Rivermonte Chapel with burial to follow in Dogwood Cemetery, Douglas County. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service beginning at 10 a.m. Online condolences may be made at www.thiemeshadel.com.
