Mrs. Martha Ellen Moates Lee - SAVANNAH - Mrs. Martha Ellen Moates Lee, 57, of Newington, passed Saturday at her residence. She was a native of Burke County and was employed by the Sylvania Telephone before retiring from Georgia Southern University as an Immunization Secretary for 18 years. She was a member of the Newington Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her child; Danny H. Lee, Jr. ; her sister, Mary Ellison; and her father, Herman Freeman Moates, Jr. Survivors include her husband, Danny H. Lee, of Newington; children, Thomas H. Lee, of Statesboro; Rusty (Nicki) Lee; Zachary Ryan Lee and Daniel Nathan Lee; her mother, Geraldine Moates, and her Granddaughter, Jaiden Taylor Lee, all of Newington. The visitation will be held Monday evening from 6:00 - 8:00pm at the Joiner Anderson Funeral Home Screven Chapel. Funeral Services will be held Tuesday, March 23, 2010 at 2:30pm at Little Ogeechee Baptist Church with Rev. Don Scarborough and Rev. Josh Caldwell officiating. Mrs. Lee will lie in state an hour prior to the service. Interment will follow at Little Ogeechee Baptist Church Cemetery.
