DAVIS, MARTHA DIEBOLD, 86, passed away on Sunday, January 10, 2010 at the Episcopal Church Home. She was born in Louisville in 1923 to the late Leo and Naomi Diebold. She is survived by her husband, Donald A. Davis Sr.; daughter, Barbara D. Graas (Robert); daughter-in-law, Barbara F. Davis (Donald A. Davis Jr., dec.); sister-in-law, Susan D. Shepard (Glen); and nephews, David Shepard (Caren) and Larry Shepard. She graduated from Shawnee High School and the University of Louisville with a major in Home Economics in 1946. She married Donald A. Davis of St. Louis in 1947. She was a member of Harvey Browne Memorial Presbyterian Church, the Greentree Homemakers' Club and the Louisville Women's Club. She was instrumental in the construction of the Wayside Christian Mission at 822 Market St. and received their Distinguished Service Award for her work. A memorial service will be held at Harvey Browne Memorial Presbyterian Church, 311 Browns Lane, Louisville, on Saturday, January 16, at 10:00 a.m. A reception at the church will follow the service. Private interment will be at Cave Hill Cemetery. Memorial donations in her honor may be sent to Wayside Christian Mission, 432 E.
