Martha Burt Lee Martha Burt Lee, 68, a retired elementary-school teacher, died Friday, Dec. 24, 2004. The service will be at 3 p.m. EST Sunday at Tallahassee Heights United Methodist Church, with burial at Oakland Cemetery. Family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. EST Saturday at Culley's MeadowWood Funeral Home, Riggins Road Chapel (850-877-8191).Memorial contributions may be made to the United Methodist Children's Home, P.O. Box 4003, Enterprise, FL 32725. Martha Burt Lee was born Oct. 6, 1936, in Tallahassee and was a graduate of Leon High School and Florida State University. She was an elementary-school teacher and retired after 35 years, with most of her years at Gilchrist Elementary School.She was a member of Alpha Delta Kappa Retired Teachers sorority. Martha touched the minds, heart and spirits of countless children who have grown up to become doctors, nurses, lawyers, teachers and public servants. She loved teaching, she loved her students and she loved Tallahassee. She chose as her legacy: "I will inform thee and teach thee in the way wherein thou shalt go, and I will guide thee with mine eyes." She was a caring mother and friend to many.She was a member of Tallahassee Heights United Methodist Church. Martha is survived by a son, David Lee of Tallahassee; a daughter, Linda Zammit (and husband Grant) of Atlanta; a brother, Jesse Burt (and wife Nancy) of Tallahassee; a sister-in-law, Jeannie Burt of Plant City; a niece, Ann Broadway of Thomasville, Ga.; a nephew, John Reeves of Tallahassee; a host of other loving nieces and nephews, Cindy, Dana, Joy, Jules, Bud, Jeff, Roy and Elizabeth; and a granddaughter, Addison Zammit.
