Marjorie Wenell Smith, 80, Florence, died Monday, March 11, 2002, at Glenwood Convalescent Center.The funeral service will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday, March 13, 2002, at Spry Serenity Chapel, Florence, with Brian Jarrett officiating. Interment will follow in Tri-Cities Memorial Gardens.She was born in Lawrence County, Tenn., and lived most of her life in Lauderdale County, Ala. She was a member of Jackson Heights Church of Christ.Preceding her in death were her husband, Earl C. Smith; parents, James Edgar and Dollie K. Mabry; brothers, Vernon T. Mabry, Howard Mabry, William E. Mabry and J.E. Mabry Jr.; and a sister, Kathleen Shelby.Survivors include her daughters, Linda Smith Watkins and Charles, Brenda Smith Methvin and Rodney; son, Thomas E. Smith and Linda Lou, all of Florence; sister, Martha Venherm, West Palm Beach, Fla.; brother, Thomas M. Mabry, Florence; grandchildren, Kim Watkins Greene and Matt, Kathy Watkins, Carter Watkins and Amanda, Lynne Methvin Bevis and Mark, Roddy Methvin, Michael Shane Smith and Maria, Andy Smith; great-grandchildren, Kelsie Watkins, Emily Spangler, Matthew Greene, Wilson Greene, Grace Anne Watkins, Benjamin Bevis and Web Bevis.Pallbearers will be grandsons, Carter Watkins, Matt Greene, Roddy Methvin, Mark Bevis, Shane Smith and Andy Smith.Honorary pallbearers will be Charles Shelby, Joe Shelby and Harold Critchfield.Memorial donations may be made to the American Heart Association.The family wishes to express sincere appreciation for the love beyond duty to Dr. Webb and all of the staff and residents on Station B at Glenwood Convalescent Center.She was a loving mother, grandmother and friend to all who knew her.Spry Serenity Chapel, Florence, is directing.
