Marjorie Marsters nee Mitchell) 1918-2013 On Friday, August 2, 2013 Marjorie Adelaide Marsters (nee Mitchell) passed away peacefully at the Wakefield Hospital with her daughter at her side. She was predeceased by her husband Rudolph Stewart Marsters. Born on October 29, 1918 in Back Bay, New Brunswick. From humble beginnings, with vigor and enthusiasm which characterized her whole life, she completed her grade 12 education, raised her family and worked in the Civil Service for many years. Providing a clean house and a welcome home for her family and friends was her delight. Over the years, she enjoyed swimming, snowmobiling, downhill skiing (which she took up at the age of 64!), bowling, playing Scrabble and cheering for her favourite hockey team (the Ottawa Senators). One of her greatest joys was driving and having to terminate it at 91 because of failing eyesight was a GREAT sadness to her. She was a classy and very generous lady and she will be deeply missed by her four children, eight grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren and one great great-grandchild. There is no one like “mom”. A special thanks to the doctors and nursing staff of the Wakefield Memorial Hospital for their kind and attentive care of our mother. Friends are invited to a Funeral Service at the McGarry Memorial Chapel, 139 Valley Road, Wakefield, on Thursday, August 8th at 11 a.m. with a reception to follow immediately thereafter. Interment will be at the Rupert Union Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to La Maison des Collines, P.O. Box 32, Wakefield, Quebec, J0X 3G0.
