MITCHELL Marjorie Mitchell, of Fairfield, CT passed away Saturday, May 12, 2012 at age 92. Prior to her death she had been residing at Maplewood Assisted Living in Orange. She was born Marjorie Ernestine Woods Dec 20, 1919 in Lyndonville VT, the third child of Garfield and Ernestine (McNeal) Woods. She had four siblings, Kenneth Woods, Cleone Giedd, Berton Woods and Doris Woods. Marjorie completed a degree as a Licensed Vocational Nurse in 1941 and practiced at the New England Sanatarium. In 1945 Marjorie married Carl Mitchell. They had four children, Judy Helm, Gary Mitchell, Ardice Bednarczyk and David Mitchell. Sewing, knitting and crocheting were some of her hobbies. She also liked walking along the beach, exercising and hiking. Marjorie was a member of the Brooklawn Seventh-day Adventist Church in Bridgeport since 1960 where she helped in the children's divisions. She is survived by her sister Cleone, brother Berton, four children, five grandchildren, and six great grandchildren. Services will be 10:00 AM Tuesday, May 15, 2012 meeting DIRECTLY at Brooklawn Seventh-day Adventist Church; 250 Brooklawn AV; Bridgeport, CT. 06604, with interment to follow in Lawncroft Burial Park. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made on her behalf to: Children's Ministries of the Brooklawn Seventh-day Adventist Church.
