Funeral services for Marjorie Cavender Lee, 87 years old, will be today, October 10, 2010, at 2 p.m. at Cedar Creek Baptist Church, Heflin, Alabama, with the Rev. Donald Triplett officiating. Dryden Funeral Home will be in charge with burial at Cedar Creek Cemetery. Mrs. Lee died Friday, October 8, 2010, at her home. She was preceded in death by husband, James Hilton Lee; daughter, Helen Lee Higgins and parents, William and Bertha Cavender. She is survived by son James Reynold Lee, of Heflin; daughter, Dora Jane Lee, of Heflin, and daughter, Alice Lee Brown, of Tampa, Florida; one grandson, Wallace Higgins Sr. and one granddaughter, DeAnn L. Umberhandt; two great- grandchildren, Wallace Higgins Jr. and Katelin Umberhandt; one great-great-grandson, Hunter Higgins. Pallbearers will be family and friends. Mrs. Lee was a life long resident of Cleburne County. She was a member of Cedar Creek Baptist Church for the past 69 years and was a prayer coordinator for the Cleburne County Baptist Association and her church. Special thanks to Clay County Hospice.
