Smith, Marjorie L. GUILDERLAND Marjorie L. Smith, 83, former owner of Tall Fashions LTD, former buyer for Lord & Taylor, passed away surrounded by her children on October 18, 2007. She was born on January 26, 1924 in Brooklyn, N.Y. to the late Joseph and Gladys Young. She was prede-ceased by her husband, G. Brandon Smith and her sisters, Gladys, Isabel and Joanne. Marjorie is survived by her sister, Ruth Knepton of Savannah, Ga. She was the mother of Brandon Smith, Cynthia Newman, Nancy Finger, Ellen Stanzione, and David Smith. She was grandmother to Allison Newman, Mark Newman and Laura Finger. Marjorie lived in Guilderland for the past 40 years. She was an avid Yankee and Nascar fan. Over the long winters, her backyard became a sanctuary for many different animals that she enjoyed watching. Her family would like to thank the kind nurses and staff at both St. Peter's Hospital and the Hospice Inn. Relatives and friends are invited and may visit NewComer-Cannon Family Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Road (Rt. 155-south of Central Ave.) on Sunday from 1 to 3 p.m. Funeral services will be private at the convenience of the family.
