JOHNSON Marjorie (Bliss) Johnson, age 79, of Higgins St., Bridgeport, formerly of Enfield, died Tuesday, Sept. 20, 2011, at the Jewish Home for the Elderly in Fairfield. She was the wife of the late Rev. Edward W. Johnson, Rector Emeritus of St. Mary's Episcopal Church (now Holy Trinity Episcopal Church) in Enfield. Born in Bridgeport, a daughter of the late Harry E. and Jessie (Ryder) Bliss, she had been a resident of the Enfield of the community for over 25 years, returning to the Bridgeport - Fairfield area in 2002. Marjorie was a registered nurse and served as Coordinator at the Mark Twain Congregate Housing in Enfield for many years. She was later employed at The McAuley Residence in West Hartford for several years. Marge was active in the Girl Scouts for many years and was a recipient of one of the highest honors in scouting, the "Thanks Badge". She enjoyed traveling and camping and most especially enjoyed trips to Cape Cod. She was also a friend of Bill W.. Marjorie is survived by two daughters, her 1 advocate and caregiver, Sarah M. Johnson of Bridgeport and Nancy Johnson of Brooklyn, NY; a brother, Warren Bliss of Willimantic; and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her sister, Ethel Schliebe of Bridgeport. A Memorial Service will be held on Thursday, September 29, 2011 at 11 a.m. in the Holy Trinity Episcopal Church, 383 Hazard Ave., Enfield. Marjorie's family has suggested that expressions of sympathy may be in the form of memorial donations to Holy Trinity Episcopal Church, 383 Hazard Ave., Enfield, CT 06082 .
