January 30, 2008 Marjorie Howard Tompkins, 85, of Syracuse, died Wednesday at Crouse Hospital. She was a graduate and an active alumna of East- wood High School and retired from Syracuse Blueprint. Mrs. Tompkins was a member of the Board of Deacons and Miriam Circle at Eastwood Baptist Church. She had volunteered for Meals on Wheels in Syracuse, was a member of the Book Club, Red Hat Society, the Civic Social Club and was active in cooking for the local ministers breakfast. She was an avid bridge and card player. She was predeceased by her husband, C. Robert Tompkins, in 1995. She is survived by a daughter, Sharee (Lou) Lemos of Camillus; a son, James R. (Suzanne) of Baldwinsville; and three grandchildren, Andrew (Kate) Tompkins and Katie and Rob Lemos. A memorial service will be held on Saturday at 2 p.m. in Eastwood Baptist Church, 3212 James Street, Syracuse. Following the service in the church, friends may greet the family.
