<!-- FH = Stauffer Funeral Home --><!-- DisplayFullObituaryText -->Marjorie Davis SmythFrederick, MDMrs. Marjorie Davis Smyth, 91, passed away on Wednesday, August 28, 2013 at the Kline Hospice House. She had resided at Country Meadows prior to stay at the Kline House. She was the wife of John H. Smyth who she married on October 7, 1942 and who passed away on June 3rd, 1980. She was born to Carrie and Thomas Davis of Brooklyn, New York on October 30, 1921. Mrs. Smyth graduated from Erasmus Hall in Brooklyn, N.Y. and Secretarial School. She was the office manager for Dr. Robert Miller in Oradell, New Jersey for a number of years. She enjoyed singing, having been a member of church choirs since the age of seven. She sang with the Brooklyn Philharmonic at the New York World's Fair in 1940. She was an avid knitter and in her later years enjoyed knitting sweaters for her family and friends' grandbabies. Mrs. Smyth was preceded in death by her son Lt. Commander Paul Thomas Smyth-USN. She is survived by her daughters Susan and Ed Holton of Keedysville, Md. and Gwen and Ed Cirri of Sparta, NJ. She is also survived by two grandsons, Mathew and Thomas Cirri. She is the last survivor of her immediate family and is survived by many nieces, nephews, and great and great, great nieces and nephews. Mrs. Smyth spent many happy years in Greenville, SC. and leaves behind many good friends. She will be especially remembered by her dear friend Sue Grady and her granddaughter Edie Grady. It is the wish of Mrs. Smyth there be no service and that her ashes will be put to sea with those of her husband and son. She does request that people take time to visit a senior citizen and bring a little joy into their lives. The family wishes to thank the staff at Kline House, for the wonderful experience of the end of life; to Dr. Hudhud, Dr. Hirem Shah and staffs for their wonderful care during this time.
