Obituary of Marjorie-D. Smith


Smith, Marjorie D. CASTLETON Marjorie D. Smith, 80, of Castleton died suddenly on Saturday, February 17, 2007 at Albany Memorial Hospital. Born in Schodack Landing, she lived in the Castleton area all her life. She was employed at the Schodack Landing and Castleton post offices before serving in the mail department at several banks in the local area. She was one of the founding members of the Schodack Landing Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary where she made many loving friends. She was a very loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and was especially fond of her cats. Survivors include her husband of 54 years, William R. Smith; daughters, Sandra (Lee) Wetherby and Cheryl (Scott) Simpson; son, Terry (Karen) Smith; grandchildren, Jeremee Wetherby, Justin Wetherby, Schuyler Simpson and Gunnar Simpson; and great-grandchildren, Jared, Gabriel, Rachel, Ada and Eloise. Funeral services will be Thursday 9:00 a.m. at Ray Funeral Home, 59 Seaman Ave., Castleton, N.Y. and 9:30 at Sacred Heart Church, 3 Catholic Way, Castleton, N.Y. where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated. Calling hours at the funeral home Wednesday 4 to 7 p.m. Burial will follow in Horizon-view Cemetery, Schodack. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to National Parkinson Foundation, Inc., Office of Development, 1501 NW 9th Ave., Bob Hope Rd., Miami, FL 33136-1494.
