Obituary of Marjorie-C. Smith


->Smith, Marjorie C.Evansville, IN: Marjorie C. Smith, 92, of Evansville, passed away Saturday, October 8, 2011, at Solarbron. She was born July 30, 1919, in Bicknell, Indiana. Marjorie worked in child care in her own home. She had also worked as a library assistant. She was a member of Simpson United Methodist Church and the VFW Ladies Auxiliary. She was a quilter, avid reader, and traveler. Marjorie loved to play bingo and cards at Solarbron. Marjorie was preceded in death by her husband of 58 years, John W. Smith, II in 2000. She is survived by her son, John W. Smith III (Polley McClure) of Spencer, NY; daughter, Nola Ann Bernstein (Jerry) of Henderson, KY; sister, Doris McNeil of Cleveland, OH; grandsons, Brendan Smith (Laura) of Toma, WI and John W. Smith IV of Sumner, WA; and great-grandchildren, Emilee, Kelley, and Sarah; and nieces and nephews. Services will be 1:00 PM Wednesday, October 12, 2011, at Alexander West Chapel, with burial in Alexander Memorial Park. Friends may visit Wednesday from 11:00 AM until service time at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Vanderburgh Humane Society, 400 Millner Industrial Drive, Evansville, IN 47710 or SPCA of Ithaca, 1640 Hanshaw Rd., Ithaca, NY 14850.
