ObituaryMarjorie Aletha Smith of Lehigh Acres, FL returned quietly to her God on Friday, October 22, 2004. Marjorie was born in Hartford, CT the daughter of Ferdinand E. and Margaret Ward Smith. She was predeceased by her sister, Thelma Smith Foley, and her brothers, Harold A. Smith and Ferdinand E. Smith, Jr. She leaves to mourn one brother, Francis M. Smith of Toronto, Canada several nieces and nephews, grand nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews. She was adored by family, particularly her three nieces, Carole F. Bisaccia, Martha S. Solomon and Barbara S. Kimmerlee. Marjorie served as a Wave in WWII and upon discharge, opened a beauty salon in New York City where she made lifetime friends and clients. Twenty years ago she retired to Lehigh Acres, and resided in Sunshine Villa. She later became a Women's Auxiliary Member of the Elks Club and various card clubs. Marjorie traveled extensively. She loved walks, the outdoors, people, and especially treasured her two cats that kept her company for many years. A memorial mass will be celebrated on Thursday, October 28, 2004 at St. Raphael's Catholic Church in Lehigh Acres at 11:00 AM. Internment will be at the convenience of the family. There will be no calling hours. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Raphael's Church. She was a dear, loving aunt who will be sincerely missed and always remembered.
