SMITH, Marion Mabel(nee Fryer)Passed away peacefully on April 26, 2014 two days before her 103rd birthday. Predeceased by her husband Gordon Percy Smith (1978). Survived by her son, Sydney Harley Smith (Barbara nee Garrow) of St. Catharines, ON and their children, Sean (friend Brian) of Hamilton, ON, Scott (Nicole) of Mississauga, ON, and Stacey (John) Mires of St. Catharines. Also survived by her son Vern Gordon Smith (Christine nee Howard) of Dorchester, ON and their children Kristin Van Berkel (Greg) of Dorchester, ON and Allison of Guelph, ON. Beloved great-grandmother of Sydney and Rebecca Mires, Emily and Noah Van Berkel, and Mary and Sarah Smith. She will also be missed by her brother Douglas Kenneth Fryer (Mildred) of Barrie, ON. Predeceased by her brothers Kenneth Jackson Fryer of Sudbury, ON, Harold Douglas Fryer, and Jay Layton Fryer of Monetville, ON. Marion graduated from North Bay Normal School and taught in Muskoka from 1930 until she married Gordon Smith of Bracebridge, ON in 1941. She was a long time member of Lincoln Road United Church, a member of the Windsor Curling Club and the John Askin Chapter of the I.O.D.E. Funeral arrangements entrusted to Walter D. Kelly Life Celebration Centre (519-252-5711). Interment to take place at St. Thomas Anglican Cemetery in Bracebridge, Ontario at a later date.
