SCHODACK Marion J. Kelly, 86, wife of Ralph C. Kelly of Schodack, entered into eternal rest on Friday, January 7, 2005 at Evergreen Commons, East Greenbush. Marion was born in Chatham Center, N.Y. and was daughter of the late Eben Phelps Hidorn and Ethel Rann Hidorn. She grew up in the City of Rensselaer and graduated from Rensselaer High School, St. Peter's School of Nursing and Siena College. She was a member of the Army Nurse Corps in World War II in the Pacific Theater, Hawaii and Okinawa. After her military discharge, she held various administration positions at the Veterans Administration Hospital in Albany. Marion was employed later by the NYS Department of Social Services and Rensselaer County Department of Social Services, retiring in 1981. After retirement, she was a volunteer at Childs Hospital, the American Red Cross and Rensselaer Senior Citizens Center. Marion was very fond of knitting, crocheting and needlepoint and created many beautiful craft works. She was a communicant of the Church of the Holy Spirit, East Greenbush and was the sister of the late Dorothy Bruder. Survivors in addition to her husband of 57 years are nephews, Bruce Bruder of Darlington, Md. and Gary Bruder of San Jose, Calif. Funeral from W.J. Lyons Jr. Funeral Home, 1700 Washington Avenue, Rensselaer Tuesday morning at 8:00 and 9:00 at the Church of the Holy Spirit, East Greenbush where the Liturgy of Christian Death and Burial will be offered. Relatives and friends are invited and may call at the funeral home Monday from 4-8 p.m. Entombment will be in St. Agnes Cemetery Mausoleum, Menands. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Church of the Holy Spirit, 667A Columbia Turnpike, East Greenbush, NY 12061 or to Concerns-U of So.
