Marion Taylor Mardis Davis, 87, widow of J. Fred Davis, of 8 Brock St., died Friday, April 29, 2005, at her home. Born in Carnesville, Ga., she was a daughter of the late Maylon Luther and Martha Ann South Taylor. She was twice married, first to the late James T. Mardis. She was a member of Tabernacle Baptist Church, where she had taught Sunday school for many years. Surviving are sons, Bobby T. Mardis of Gaffney, Wayne Mardis of Williamston and R. Steve Mardis Sr. of Pelzer; daughter, Peggy M. Thomason of Pelzer; brothers, Ray Taylor of Batesburg and Marshall (Luke) Taylor of Greenville; a sister, Doris Colonna of Greenville; 13 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be at 2:30 p.m. Sunday at Gray Mortuary Chapel, Pelzer, with the Rev. Billy Slatten and the Rev. Jimmy Smith officiating. Burial will follow in Greenville Memorial Gardens. The family is at the home, and will receive friends from 1 to 2:30 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home, before the service. Omit flowers. Memorials may be made to Gideons International, P.O.
