Obituary of Marilyn-M. Macdonald


PELHAM, N.H. -- Marilyn M. (Avola) MacDonald, 60, a former Medford resident, died Monday evening, March 20, at her home in Pelham. She was the beloved wife of Francis G. MacDonald Jr. of Pelham, with whom she would have celebrated their 40th wedding anniversary on Oct. 14.She was born in Somerville, Mass., on May 13, 1946, daughter of Mary (Scioletti) Avola of Medford and the late Anthony Avola. She was raised in Medford and graduated from Medford High School.Mrs. MacDonald enjoyed cooking, vacationing on Cape Cod, going to the Foxwoods Casino in Ledyard, Conn., and playing bingo with her friends. Besides her husband and mother, she is survived by three children, Michele Khoury of Haverhill, Mass., Kimberly MacDonald and her companion Ryan Gath of Dracut and Michael MacDonald and his companion Andrea Charest of Pelham; three grandchildren, Andrew, Austin and Anthony Khoury of Haverhill; two sisters, Janet Hanley and her husband Kevin of Medford and Doreen Avola of Saugus, Mass.; three brothers, John Avola of Barrington, N.H., Anthony Avola and his wife Janet of Peabody, Mass., and Fran Avola and his wife Patty of Medford; a brother and sister-in-law, Leo and Paula MacDonald of Tewksbury; her sisters-in-law, Jean and Mary MacDonald of Tewksbury; and many nieces, nephews, cousins and close friends.Mrs. MacDonald was also sister of the late Leonard Avola.
