Obituary of Marilyn-D. Kelly


Marilyn "Millie" D. Kelly, 85, formerly of Katherine Street, died Sunday, April 20, 2003, at Foothills Presbyterian Home. Born in Kelton in Union County, Miss Kelly was the daughter of the late Thomas Elsie and Effis Harmon Kelly. She graduated from Tamassee D.A.R. School in 1936 and from Lincoln Memorial University in Harrogate, Tenn., in 1940. Miss Kelly retired in 1982 after 42 years with Pickens County schools, having spent most of her career at East End Elementary School. She was a member of Easley Presbyterian Church, where she had taught Sunday school for many years. Surviving are two nieces, Linda Kelly and Elaine Williams, both of Seneca,; and a nephew, Sam Rochester, of Walhalla. She was predeceased by a brother, Garlon Kelly, and a sister, Hazel Kelly Rochester. Memorial services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday in the Healthcare Dining Room at Foothills Presbyterian Home, with the Revs. Julie Schaaf and Linda Sharp officiating. Graveside funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Greenlawn Memorial Park. Memorials may be made to Sunday school of Easley Presbyterian Church, 200 S. First St., Easley, SC 29640. The body is at Robinson Funeral Home, Downtown, and family members are at their respective homes.
