Marilyn Alice (Worthley) Morgan, 76, Punta Gorda, died July 25, 2006, at Morningside in Seminole. She was born Feb. 23, 1930, in Mansfield, Ohio. She graduated from Northwestern University in Evanston, Ill., with a degree in music education. She taught for 20 years in the Lombard, Ill., school district before moving to Punta Gorda. She was a member of First Church of Christ, Scientist, Port Charlotte, where she served in many capacities, most recently as organist. She taught music at the Cultural Center of Charlotte County, was a founding member of the Charlotte Chorale, and was a member of the Sunshine Strummers. Survivors include children Carolyn James, William, David, Louise Hart and Kenneth; brothers Charles Worthley and Warren Worthley; a sister, Carol Adams; and five grandchildren. A memorial service will be at 1 p.m. Aug. 11 at the Cultural Center of Charlotte County in Port Charlotte. Charlotte Memorial Funeral Home in Punta Gorda is in charge. Memorial donations may be made to the First Church of Christ, Scientist, 21090 Iliade Ave., Port Charlotte, FL 33592.
