HALL Marie Syvertsen Hall, 70, of Heathsville, VA and Jacksonville Beach, FL died Friday, November 28, 2003. Born in Brooklyn, NY she is survived by her children; Larry Steven Hall of Jacksonville Beach, FL, Susan Marie Brueser and her husband Terry and granddaughter Carlee Marie of Fredericksburg, VA and Karen Linda Bartlett and her husband Tom and their children, Tommy and Madison of Jacksonville Beach, FL. As a young mother, she worked at Prudential Insurance Co. in Jacksonville and Dominion Power CO. in Woodbridge, VA. After raising her children and putting them through college, she followed her love of art and successfully pursued a B. A. in Art from Indiana State University in Evansville. Some of her artistic talents included stained glass, woodworking, pottery, printmaking, sewing, quilting and photography. She was a member of Temple Sisterhood Brail Group of Jacksonville Beach and volunteered her time helping create brail picture books that allowed the blind to feel assorted images. She also contributed time and service to the Department for the Blind and Vision Impaired in Virginia and received recognition from the Governor. Marie was an active member of the Camellia Society of Jacksonville where she demonstrated her talents as a grower, presenter and judge at events around the state. She was so admired, that a Japonica Hybrid, the “ “ Marie Hall” was named in her honor. Norwegian by birth, Marie was involved with the Sons of Norway. She traveled to Norway to see many relatives and cherished those memories. Marie was a member of the Bethlehem Lutheran Church of Jacksonville Beach and the Good Sheppard Lutheran Church of Heathsville. A memorial service with the family and friends will be held at the Heathsville home Saturday, December 6, 2003 at 2pm. Arrangements by Marks-Bristow Funeral Home, Tappahannock, VA.
