Mom was born at Oakpoint, MB, April 13, 1908, grew up in St. Francis Xavier and later Boggy Creek. She married Stavus Barton in 1933 and together they created a loving home in the mining towns of Central, Beresford Lake and for 26 years in Bissett where they established lifelong friendships. When San Antonio Gold Mines closed in 1968, they moved to Winnipeg where she resided until her death. Mom had the highest set of values, an undefeatable spirit in life, and an unconquerable soul in death. She lived a remarkable life, maintaining excellent health, free from illness. She lived according to the dictates of her heart and was independent to the end. She was respected by her family and friends, for her grace and service to others. She will be remembered for her love for her family and her sense of adventure, which continued to amaze us all.
