OLEAN - Marie L. Williams, formerly of Promised Land Road, Olean, passed away Monday (March 12, 2012) at the Brookside Manor, Olean, after a short illness. Born May 28, 1922, in Portville, she was the daughter of the late Floyd and Myrtle Baker Gleason. On Oct. 25, 1940, in Portville, she married Eugene T. Williams, who passed away Aug. 24, 2010. Marie was a graduate of Portville High School, class of 1941. She attended the First Baptist Church in Olean and was a past member of the Weston's Mills Fire Department Auxiliary. She enjoyed reading and Bible study. Surviving are three daughters, Diane (John) Dray of Eldred, Pa., Nancy Williams of Portville and Elaine (John) Campion of Jamestown; eight grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and nieces and nephews.In addition to her husband, she was predeceased by a daughter, Kathleen Odell in 2009, and a sister, Faye Spiller. Family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday (March 14, 2012) at the Guenther Funeral Home Inc., 51 S. Main St., Portville, where funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday (March 15, 2012). Pastor Dan McDowell of the First Baptist Church will officiate. Burial will be in St. Bonaventure Cemetery, Allegany. Memorials may be made to the First Baptist Church, 133 S. Union St., Olean, NY 14760.
