BOONE, MARIE ELVA Ocala- Marie Elva Boone passed away January 4, 2010 after a ten year battle with kidney disease. Born March 30, 1931 in West Palm Beach, Florida, Marie resided in Florida most of her life. She was a dedicated wife, mother, sister and grandmother. Although she worked at the Miami Herald when she was young, Marie devoted herself unselfishly to her family and church and practiced her faith in the rearing of her children, teaching Sunday School and being a wonderful and talented homemaker. Preceded in death by her siblings Jackie Dearth, Irving Hastings, Homer Johnson, Ronnie Hastings, Danny Hastings, and Sharon Blanton, she is survived by Don, her husband of 56 years; son, Larry (Lynn) Boone; daughter, Diane (Gordon) Harris; grandchildren, Clay and Lane Harris and Kennedy and Kylee Boone, all of Brentwood; sisters, Elizabeth Nelson, Ocala, Florida and Candace Baker, Orlando, Florida. A service to honor Mrs. Boone's life will be held at 1 p.m. Friday, January 8th in the Baskin Chapel of Brentwood Baptist Church. The family will receive friends from 11:30 a.m. until time of service in the Church Parlor. Interment Williamson Memorial Gardens.
