MERIDEN - Marie (Mary) Anne Begin, 88, of 16 Arch Parkway, wife of the late Joseph Begin, died on Friday, May 27, 2005, at MidState Medical Center.Born in St. Euphrem, Province of Quebec, Canada on Jan. 15, 1917, she was the daughter of the late Henry and Veronique (Bolduc) Mercier. She came to the United States in 1934 and had resided at 16 Arch Parkway, Meriden, for many years. Mrs. Begin was employed by International Silver and New Departure, retiring from New Departure in 1975. She was a parishioner of St. Laurent Church.She is survived by several nieces and nephews, especially a niece, Rita Mercier, of Meriden; and several nieces and nephews in Canada. She was predeceased by a sister, Beatrice; and two brothers, Gerald and Dominic.The funeral will be held on Tuesday, May 31, at 10:30 am., from the John J. Ferry & Sons Funeral Home, 88 East Main St., followed by a Mass of Christian burial at 11 a.m. at St. Laurent Church. Burial will be in St. Laurent Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home on Tuesday prior to the Mass of Christian burial from 9:30 to 10:30 am.
