Marguerite (Marge) McGill formally of Norwood, died July 20th at 90 yrs old. She was born 4/3/1923 in Hartford, CT to Joseph and Veronica (McArdle) Conklin. After the death of her father when she was 7, she was raised with the family of her aunt and uncle in Pittsfield, MA. She graduated from St Joseph's High School and St Francis School of Nursing in Hartford, CT. In 1947 she married to her beloved, the late Joseph P. McGill. They enjoyed 54 years together. They lived in Norwood, MA for 35 years where they raised their 9 children. After retirement they moved to Harwich/Chatham, Cape Cod and then Providence RI. She worked as a RN at Norwood Hospital in the Nursery for over 15 years and later in private practice. She was very active in F.I.S.H and volunteered at the Pine St Inn and Rosie's Place. She was also a foster parent to Maria Silva in Guayaquil, Ecuador. She belonged to a bridge club, was a published poet and enjoyed crocheting afghans (which are shared through all the generations). She endured lifes heartaches as best she could and was tickled by the silliest puns but mostly she enjoyed her family. She is survived by her 9 children; Patrick (Brenda) McGill from Providence, RI, Peggyanne (Eric) Peterson from Bouton, IA, Peter McGill from Providence, RI, Kathleen (Michael) Scarpone from Norwood, Nancy (Larry) Gilardi from Norton, Pamela (Darren) LaFortune from Fremont, CA, Judy McGill from Middleboro, Sheila (Anthony) Casadonte from S Attleboro and Susan (Matthew) Travers from N Attleboro.
